AP Letters

We recently met up with Ashlyn Postier of AP Letters. She is a calligrapher and the owner of an Etsy Shop. Our interview with her is below.

Tell us about AP Letters.

AP Letters was born out of a lot of people saying, “hey, you should start an etsy shop!” I naturally loved lettering – whether it was on chalkboards or hand making gifts for people. When I was little I used to write out bible verses or inspiring quotes with printer paper and crayola markers and tape them up on my walls!

The wedding side of AP Letters is a passion. I love creating wedding suites for brides, lettering addresses on their envelopes, and any other things that they ask me to letter I AM GAME! Wedding stationery is so special because it is one of the few things that last way beyond a wedding day. They become heirlooms that you can show your future kiddos!

What products + services do you offer?

I offer the design and printing of wedding stationery (wedding invitation suites, envelope addressing, day-of products), wedding signage (wood, acrylic, paper signs), art prints, & I’ve also helped a few clients with branding – which I have loved!

What is your specialty?

I love the process of designing something new and unique- obviously with my lettering- but also with watercolor florals.

Do you have a favorite font? Style? Color combination?

I would describe my lettering as “modern” hand lettering. It has my style and flare and just feels like me! I really enjoy playing around with my lettering and trying new things.

How far in advance of their wedding should couples contact you?

It’s good to reach out a month or even two to three months before invitations absolutely need to go out for wedding stationery. It’s helpful for me, just in case I have other bookings so that I can spend as much time and love on your wedding as needed.

I can usually work my magic and get things done in a pinch, if needed.

Any tips for couples hoping to book with you?

If you are thinking about booking with me, just shoot me a message so we can chat! I think the main tip is to just not wait until the last minute to reach out! Wedding season can be crazy – I don’t want to have to rush the process! I’m really easy going and will tweak the projects so that you are left with something that you absolutely love!
